CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Coker cross-country teams will be competing in the Royal Cross Country Challenge on Friday (Oct. 12).
With nearly 30 teams already confirmed for the meet, the Cobras will be relying on strong performances from sophomores Stephanie Shaw and Josh Peterson.
Shaw is coming off her best race of the year after she set a new Coker women's cross country record by finishing 18th overall in the 4k race with a time of 17:50.88 at the Pre-Conference Meet. Peterson led the men's team by finishing first for Coker and completing the 5k race in a time of 17:03.37.
The race is scheduled to take place at McAlpine Creek Park, which is known for very firm, flat and fast courses. The women will run the 5k race starting at 3:30 p.m., followed by the men's 8k race at 4:15 p.m.
