
Women’s Cross Country Tabbed No. 11 by the Conference
The Conference Carolinas preseason coaches' poll has the women's cross country team at No. 11.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's cross country team was voted No. 11 in the Conference Carolinas preseason coaches' poll.
The Cobras received 27 points in the poll. Mount Olive edged out King for the top spot, with 112 points and three first-place votes. King had 107 points and two first-place votes.
Coker is beginning its first season under new head coach Vic Finora. The leading runner from a year ago, Stephanie Shaw, returns for her sophomore season. The Cobras' season begins Friday at the Eye Opener Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C.
The entire preseason coaches' poll is as follows:
- Mount Olive; 2. King; 3. Queens; 4. Lees-McRae; 5. Belmont Abbey; 6. Barton; 7. Pfeiffer; 8. Erskine; 9. Converse; 10. Limestone; 11. Coker; 12. North Greenville
Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletic conference made up of 12 teams from North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions are Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Coker College, Converse College, Erskine College, King College, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, Mount Olive College, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University and Queens University of Charlotte.
