Orlando, FL- A little rain never hurt anyone, but a whole lot of rain can do some major damage, unless you are Coker women’s cross country runner, Kendyl Seawright (Manalapan, NJ), then you set records in the rain. Seawright set a new Coker record at the Disney Classic Cross Country meet on Saturday, running a 19:51 5k, besting Cristina Grivetti’s (’04) 20:05 mark. Kendyl finished the race in 72nd place out of 366 runners, leading Coker to a 32nd place finish out of 49 teams.

Monica Taylor (Lexington, SC) ran a time of 22:17, followed by Shannon Townley (Anniston, AL) with a time of 22:18. Dana Daves (York, SC) was next with a time of 22:25, while Heidi Rienstra (Brockville, Ontario) came in at 23:31. Nicole Coke (Summerville, SC) finished at 24:25, followed by Noelle Sharbono (Pembroke Pines, FL) at 24:51. Ashley Cupp (N. Augusta, SC) and Amy Jones (Hurricane, WV) rounded out the Coker runners with times of 25:03 and 26:11 respectively.

The Cobra Cross Country Teams now get a week break before they run in the 2007 Conference Carolina Championships on October 20, at Spartanburg, SC.
