On the women’s side, Coker placed second behind UNC-Pembroke. The Cobras out paced Savannah College of Art and Design, Francis Marion, USC-Aiken and Benedict College. Individually, freshman Heidi Rienstra led the way coming at 20:57 in eighth place, followed by classmate Dana Daves at 21:35 good enough for 11th place. Monica Taylor came in at 22:10 in 14th, while Shannon Townley finished at 22:17 in 15th place. Next, Noelle Sharbono came in at 23:08 in 20th place, followed by Amy Jones with a time of 23:31 in 24th place and Ashley Cupp at 23:38 in 25th place. Jennifer Graham rounded out the Coker runners with a time of 29:10 in 35th place.
The Cobra runners will prepare for their next meet on Saturday, September 9, when they compete in the CVAC pre-conference meet in Spartanburg, SC.
