Hartsville, SC- Coker College’s Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach, Ley Fletcher, announced the signing of 11 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to run Cross Country for the Cobras. Of those 11 signees, eight will run for the women and three will run for the men.

 

On the women’s side, Fletcher signed All-Region selection, Elizabeth Turner of Chesterfield, SC. Amy Jones is a All-State Cross Country and Track runner from Hurricane, WV. Dana Daves is a York, SC, native, where she was an All-Region cross country runner, also from York, Marissa Shinkovich, was All-Region in cross country and track. Monica Taylor joins the Cobras from Lexington, SC, where she was All-Region in both track and cross country for Gilbert High School. Jessica Sowell is an All-State runner from Bryant, AK, and Heidi Rienstra comes to Coker from Ontario, Canada, where she was an All-Conference runner, she will play basketball and run cross country for the Cobras. Finally, Kelly Futch joins the Cobras from Spartanburg Methodist, she is a native of Varnville, SC, and she was the #3 runner on the team that finished 10th at the Division I Junior College National Championship.

Coach Fletcher is very excited about his new recruits and is looking forward to the start of another great season for the Cobras.
