ROCK HILL, SC – The Coker College cross country teams both had new records established for men’s 6K and women’s 4K races at the Winthrop/Asics Fall Classics.  Junior David Green/Easley, SC accomplished the new mark for the men and senior Katheryn Raymon/Columbia, SC did the same for the women.

Against mostly Division I competitors, Green placed 16th overall in 18:50 and was followed by sophomore Nathan Hansen/Montgomery, AL in 19:52 for 53rd place.  Sophomore Tyler Carroll/Birmingham, AL placed 74th in 20:36 and junior Britt Means/Irmo, SC crossed in 20:54.  Junior Jermaine Cooper/Irmo, SC finished in 21:15 for 82nd and classmate Alex Kornfeld/Greenville, SC placed 87th with a time of 21:36.  Blake Means/Irmo, SC crossed 13 seconds later for 88th, and senior John Westbrooks/Pickens, SC came in at 22:36.  Freshman Michael Koshis/Greenville, SC finished in 23:48.

Rayman’s time of 17:53 set a new record for the women and gave her 72nd overall.  Freshman Noelle Sharbono/Pembroke Pines, FL took 76th place with a time of 18:04 and classmate Elizabeth Cox/North Myrtle Beach, SC followed with a time of 21:52.  Senior Suzie Fielders finished in 22:30 and senior Crystal Holliday/Sumter, SC finished in 25:13. 

The Cobras will compete again on Saturday, October 9th, at the Furman University Invitational.
