Hartsville, SC - The Cobras fell to the nationally-ranked Bulldogs of Wingate by a score of 3-0 (14-25, 18-25, 18-25) this evening.
The first set was one to forget, as was the beginning of the second. However, the Cobras found momentum at the end of the second set which gave them a spark heading into the third set.
Looking to take this one past three sets, Coker came out with a different energy in the beginning of the third. They went up 3-1 to lead for the first time this evening and maintained that energy level as it was evened up at 14-14 at one point. However, that momentum slowed down and it was the Bulldogs running away with the score to claim this victory.
Cayla Gilmore was the lone Cobra in double-digit kills this evening with 10. Two Cobras were in double-figure assists in the form of Laila Hixon (15) and Maddy Roberts (13). The lone Cobra in double-digit digs was Meadow Morse with 10.
The Cobras will finish out their season on the road, heading to Lincoln Memorial on Friday and Mars Hill on Saturday. Both of those games will have a 6:00 PM ET start time.
