Hartsville, SC - The Cobras fought early on in each of the evening's three sets but couldn't quite pull one of them out, falling 3-0 (20-25, 15-25, 16-25) to RV Lenoir-Rhyne
The Bears were hot all night long, not letting up in their pursuit of a road victory over the Cobras. As stated previously, each set held promise at the beginnings, especially in the first. Down 8-3, they brought it to within one at 9-8 before the Bears won some points to give themselves some room to work with. Unfortunately, the effort and tenacity shown by Coker Volleyball wasn't quite enough in tonight's contest.
Some good can be found in this loss as Maddy Roberts recorded a double-double on the night with 10 assists and 10 digs. The Cobras also had two others in double figures, with Laila Hixon recording 12 assists and Meadow Morse leading the team with 17 digs.
This was game one in the Cobras' six-game homestand, with game two being back in DeLoach on Friday night against Anderson. First serve in that one is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET.
