Greeneville, TN - Women's Volleyball lost a tough one this evening at Tusculum, falling in three sets (16-25, 21-25, 10-25) to the Pioneers.
The bright spot for the Cobras in this one was the second set, going back and forth early on. The final score doesn't quite tell the whole story, as they were tied 20-20 with a big fighting chance at the end of it before dropping five of the last six points. After this one, it was off to the races for the Pioneers, putting their foot on the gas and not allowing the gritty Cobras to get a foothold.
Two Coker athletes recorded double-doubles in assists and digs, with Laila Hixon getting 11 assists and 12 digs while Maddy Roberts recorded 11 assists and 10 digs. The other Cobra in double figures in a given category was Meadow Morse, recording 12 digs on the night.
Coker will look to bounce back in the coming week as they start a six-game homestand on Tuesday against Lenoir-Rhyne. First serve in that one is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET.
