VOLLEYBALL HANGS IN WITH BULLDOGS, FALL ON THE ROAD

The Cobras traveled to take on the top team in the South Atlantic Conference this evening, falling to the Wingate Bulldogs by a score of 3-0 (21-25, 20-25, 16-25).

The first two sets were tightly contested, with the Cobras holding leads in both. In the second set, they had a four-point lead at 10-6 before Wingate responded and finished them off at 25-20.

Although the score doesn't necessarily reflect it, this was one of the best performances for the Cobras to date. No Cobras were in double-figure kills, but Kailyn Ivey had 6 kills for a stellar .417 percentage. Laila Hixon had the lone Cobra double-double with 13 kills and 13 assists. Other Cobras in double figures included Maddy Roberts (13 assists) and Meadow Morse (19 digs).

The Cobras will head back on the road on Friday, traveling to Tusculum to continue conference play. First serve in that game is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET.
