Hartsville, SC - The Cobras nearly pulled off the reverse sweep, falling 2-3 (23-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-21, 7-15) to local rival FMU.
A back-and-forth game for the Cobras ended in a heartbreaker. After hanging in the first set but falling 25-23, they had a rough start in the second set and weren't able to claw their way back in it. However, the Cobras rallied strong and pieced together two great sets to tie this one at 2-2.
Coker couldn't quite come through in the final set and dropped the season opener. However, they will be right back in action tomorrow at both 10 AM and 7 PM to look for redemption in the 2024 Coker Cobras Classic. Game 1 will feature the Cobras and West Virginia Wesleyan while Coker will play host to USC Aiken in the final matchup on day two of this tournament.
