Cobras Struggle in Final Day at Valdosta

Valdosta, GA - The Cobras competed in Day 2 of the Blazer Volleyball Fall Tournament. Fatigue got the best of the Cobras today, as they were downed 3-0 by both the Badgers and the Lions.

 

Game 1:

In a volleyball match between Coker and Spring Hill, Spring Hill came out on top with a 3-0 victory. The final scores were 25-11, 25-9, and 25-22 in favor of Spring Hill.

Coker struggled to find their rhythm. Chelsey Blume was a standout player for Coker, contributing 10 kills. However, Coker had a difficult time with their hitting, resulting in a negative hitting percentage of -0.03. Spring Hill's strong performance was also supported by their serving game. Defensively, Spring Hill had a solid presence at the net, recording three blocks.

Despite the loss, Coker's Meadow Morse showcased exceptional defensive skills, leading her team in digs with 13. However, Coker struggled defensively overall, allowing Spring Hill to score 57 points in total. Overall, Spring Hill proved to be the stronger team in this matchup, displaying excellent attacking, serving, and blocking skills. Coker will need to regroup and work on their hitting and defense moving forward.

 

Game 2:

In a volleyball matchup between Coker and Saint Leo, it was Saint Leo who came out on top with a 3-0 victory. The final scores were 25-20, 25-13, and 25-13 in favor of Saint Leo.

Throughout the match, Saint Leo displayed their dominance, with strong offensive performances from multiple players. Coker struggled to find their footing, with several players recording errors and low hitting percentages. Chelsey Blume and Elif Hazar Kayan were the top performers for Coker, each contributing 3 kills.

Overall, Saint Leo's strong offensive play and solid serving proved to be the difference, resulting in their 3-0 victory over Coker.
