HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University volleyball team fell to Catawba Friday night (Sept. 24) by a score of 3-0.
Catawba took each of the two sets by identical scores of 25-19, before taking the match with a 25-22 third set.
Taylor Parker paced the Cobras with nine kills, while seven others registered kills for Coker. Rami Mullen and Ashley Carson each dished out 13 assists in the match, while Makayla Harris had two, and Parker and Alex Williams each had one. Parker also finished with a team-best nine digs, while nine others were active in the dig effort. Chelsey Blume registered two solo blocks, while Parker, Carson Fuller and Alyssa Lake each had one. Blume and Naomi Earl-Reyes each had two block assists, while Fuller and Lake each had one.
The Cobras return to the DeLoach Center tomorrow (Saturday, Sept. 25) to face Queens (N.C.) in South Atlantic Conference action. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com.
