
Coker Welcomes the Royals to Town for SAC Matchup
The Coker College women’s volleyball will play host to the Queens University of Charlotte Royals Thursday (Oct. 12) at 7:00 p.m. in a South Atlantic Conference matchup.
HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College women's volleyball will play host to the Queens University of Charlotte Royals Thursday (Oct. 12) at 7:00 p.m. in a South Atlantic Conference matchup.
Taylor du Bray leads the Cobra offensive attack with 179 kills, averaging 2.84 kills per set, with Madison Bingle, Alexis Berles, and Annie Mansfield are also in the triple-digit territory. Christen Bragg is performing well as the Navy and Gold setter, totalling 633 assists and averaging 9.59 per set on the season. Bragg also heads up the service ace category with 16 and a three-way tie for second (Berles, Kara Overholt, and du Bray) at 14. As the Cobra libero, Overholt has an average of five digs per set, for a total of 330 in 2017. Bingle, du Bray, and Bragg all have over 200 digs on the season. After a five solo block performance on Saturday against Lenoir-Rhyne, Bethany Prochnow has taken over the top spot with 10 solos. Berles leads in block assists and total blocks at 39 and 48, respectively.
The Royals are led offensively by Rebecca Cochran with 207 kills at an average of 3.23 per set. Cochran is the dig leader with 261, followed by Lexie Dolecheck with 206. Sydney Kunz has 698 assists so far in 2017, averaging 10.91 per set. Taylor Henry totals 47 blocks, and has 8 solo and 39 block assists. Alex Thompson has 8 solo blocks and assisted on 38 for a total of 46. Mallory Swarts averages a service ace in almost every other set, for a season total of 30. Kunz and Cochran both have more than 20 aces this season.
