
Cobras Set to Host Newberry on Friday
The Coker College women’s volleyball team returns home to the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center on Friday (Oct. 14) to take on the visiting Newberry College Wolves in a South Atlantic Conference matchup at 5 p.m.

The Cobras head into the matchup sporting a 9-8 overall record with a 5-2 mark at home.
Setter Christen Bragg has contributed to the Cobras in multiple facets of the game. She leads Coker in kills (128), assists (349), is second on team in total blocks (36), and is third on the team in digs (165). Other notable offensive weapons for the Cobras include Madison Bingle (124 kills), Bethany Prochnow (103 kills), and Alexis Berles (101 kills).
On the defensive side of the ball, Kara Overholt leads the Cobras with 325 digs, which is good for fifth in the conference. In addition, Overholt's 5.16 digs per set is good for fourth in the conference.
The Wolves enter Friday's matchup with a 9-4 overall record and a 6-5 SAC record. They are led by Logan Hayward's 221 kills.
These two teams met earlier this season on Sept. 27 at Newberry with the Wolves coming away with a 3-0 victory. Megan Hardy led the attack with nine kills and Christen Bragg dished out a team-high 15 assists.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free to all Coker faculty, staff, and students.
