HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's volleyball team came up short in their final South Atlantic Conference match of the season, falling 3-2 to the Tusculum Pioneers on Saturday (Nov. 16).
After falling behind 2-0, 25-19 and 25-19, the Cobras picked up back-to-back victories in sets three and four, 25-20 and 25-23 to force a decisive fifth match. After a hard fought set, the Pioneers defeated the Cobras 15-10 to win the match 3-2.
Taylor Willis earned her second consecutive double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs, while Cassandra Nagel had 11 kills. Mindy Morris had a match high 33 digs and Samantha Celek had 39 assists. Kelly Stine also added nine kills to the Cobra offense.
Coker will return to the court for its final match of the season at home at 6 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 16) against the UNC Pembroke Braves.
