
Coker Falls Short Against Carson-Newman 3-1
The Coker womnen's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss to Carson-Newman on Saturday (Nov. 2).
JEFFERSON CITY, TENN. – Cassandra Nagel knocked down a career high 11 kills in the Coker women's volleyball team's 3-1 loss to Carson-Newman on Saturday (Nov. 2) afternoon.
Carson-Newman took the first two sets of the match 25-15 and 25-19, but the Cobras battled back in the third set to win 25-19. The Eagles took home the victory with a 25-16 win in the fourth and final set.
In addition to Nagel's 11 kills, she also set a career high for digs with 16. Samantha Celek also earned a double-double handing out 35 assists with 11 digs. Taylor Willis added nine kills and eight digs, while Toni Hammer had eight kills. Celia Duggan and Hannah Vadakin chipped in seven kills each as well for the Cobras.
Coker returns to the court on Friday (Nov. 8) for another road match, this time at Brevard College. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
