CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Coming off a 5-set loss to St. Andrews on Friday night, the Queens University of Charlotte volleyball team (3-15, 7-24) looked to end the season by celebrating Senior Day with a win. The visiting Coker Cobras (3-15, 5-26) had other ideas as they defeated the Royals 25-18; 22-25; 19-25; 21-25 in four sets.

The Royals’ attack was led by the trio of Brittany Harvey Tanisha Lea, and Annie Henderson who tallied season-highs in kills (10) and blocks (2). Erinn Moore added a double-double with 44 assists and 10 digs. Among the five Royals with 10+ digs, libero Sarah Malpass  registered a match-high 28 digs. Queens’ lone senior, Audrey Hurd, played to the spirit of the celebration as she had season-highs in Kills (4), digs (5), and aces (1) in her final appearance.

Hurd, escorted by her parents, was honored between games two and three with flowers and gifts from her teammates. The celebration included a recap of her career highlights followed by teammate’s dialogue about Hurd’s leadership and inspiration on the team.

In their third Conference Carolinas win of the year, the Cobras leaned on Cynallyhia Indriago’s 10 kills and 14 digs. Coker balanced the floor using setters Molly Bookhart and Abby Frame to direct the attack with 20 and 19 assists respectively. A series of players manned the perimeter for the Cobras, five recorded 11+ digs.

With the loss, the Royals finish the season tied 10th in Conference Carolinas with Coker.
