Hartsville, S.C. – Up 2-1 the Lady Cobra volleyball team was unable to finish off the Erskine Flying Fleet in Conference Carolinas volleyball action on Saturday afternoon, losing 3-2. In a true back and forth battle, Coker won the opening set 26-24, but they dropped the second set 25-18. The Lady Cobras battled back to win the third set 25-21, but were again stopped in the fourth set 25-16. Then a 15-11 fifth set gave the Fleet the decisive set and the win.

Coker falls to 3-25 overall and 1-14 in the conference, while Erskine improves to 12-16 overall and 9-6 in conference.

A trio of Lady Cobras had double digit kills in their final home match of the season, with April Griggs (Bishopville, S.C.) leading the way with 13 kills, followed by Kristin Teets (Columbia, S.C.) and Cynallyhia Indriago (Columbia, S.C.) each putting away 11 kills. Abbey Frame (Sylvania, Ohio) had a double-double with 24 digs and 23 assists, while senior Trisha Moore (Rock Hill, S.C.) recorded 15 digs in here final match at Coker. Molly Bookhart (Orangeburg, S.C.) finished the match with 23 assists and Lisa Ross (Bowling Green, Ky.) dug up 13 digs.

Leading the Flying Fleet was Liz Massey’s double-double of 18 kills and 14 digs, with Allison Albets picking up 15 kills and five total blocks. Erin Tovo also had double digit kills with 11, while Larz Chabra had a double-double of her own with 52 assists and 11 digs. Brooke Dodge had a match high 25 digs for Erskine.

Coker returns to the floor on Tuesday, Nov. 3 when they travel to Wilson, N.C. for a Conference Carolinas match against Barton College at 7:00 p.m.
