Hartsville, S.C. – The Coker Lady Cobras went toe-to-toe with the number one team in Conference Carolinas on Friday night, Pfeiffer University. Coker battled hard, but lost in straight sets, 3-0. In the first two matches the Lady Cobras were in the lead, but Pfeiffer battled back in each set to win. The Falcons won by scores of 25-20, 27-25 and 25-16.

The win improves the Falcons to 14-6 overall and 11-1 in the conference, while the loss drops the Lady Cobras to 1-19 overall, and 0-9 in the conference.

Kristina Mordini (Freeport, Ill.) was the kill leader of the match with 12 kills for the Falcons, while Lauren Dickens (Raleigh, N.C.) was the dig leader with 13, with Kaci Markham (Asheboro, N.C.) getting 11 digs. Vanessa Gerig (Towanda, Ill.) dished out 25 assists in the win.

For the Cobras, Kristin Teets (Columbia, S.C.) was the kill leader with nine kills, while Lisa Ross (Bowling Green, Ky.) and April Griggs (Bishopville, S.C.) each had eight digs. Molly Bookhart had 26 assists and 10 digs, while Cynallyhia Indriago (Columbia, S.C.) had 11 digs and Trisha Moore (Rock Hill, S.C.) had 13 digs.

Coker returns to the floor on Saturday, when they host Queens at noon, while Pfeiffer travels to Charlotte, N.C. to face Johnson C. Smith at 1:00 p.m. also on Saturday.
