Hartsville, S.C. – In their first home match of the season the Coker volleyball team was unable to pick up a win as they lost their eighth consecutive match, 3-1 to St. Andrews Presbyterian College Tuesday night. The Knights of St. Andrews took the first set 25-18, but Coker bounced back with a 25-23 in the second set. It was all St. Andrews in the third set as they dominated the Lady Cobras for a 25-12 win and then it was a 25-22 win in the fourth set that gave the Knights the victory.

The loss drops Coker to 1-10 overall and 0-2 in Conference Carolinas play, while the Knights improve to 6-5 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

Leading the Cobras was Kristin Teets (Columbia, S.C.) with seven kills and five digs, while Cynallyhia Indriago (Columbia, S.C.) had six kills and four digs. Abby Frame (Sylvania, Ohio) had 21 assists and 10 digs.

For the Knights, Heather Bolwerk (Appleton, Wis.) had a double-double with 14 kills and 13 digs, while Galina Podolsky (Raleigh, N.C.) had 11 kills to lead the St. Andrews offense. Defensively the Knights were led by Kelly Stine (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Courtney McDonald (Leander, Texas) who each had 17 digs on the night. Erica Davis (Tulsa, Okla.) also had double digit digs in the match with 14.

Coker returns to action on Saturday, when they play host to two teams. The Lady Cobras will play Belmont Abbey in a conference match at 2:00 p.m., followed by a non-conference match against Brevard College immediately following the Belmont Abbey match.
