Hartsville, SC- With a 3-2 loss against the Limestone College Saints, the Coker Volleyball Team lost their second straight five-game Conference Carolinas match on Friday night. The loss drops the Cobras to 6-11 on the season, and 3-3 in the conference, while Limestone improves to 6-10 overall, and 4-1 in the conference.

Coker jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, thanks to a 30-17 game one victory, but the saints bounced back with a 30-27 game two win. Game three was the exact opposite of game two, with Coker winning 30-27, while in game four the score was again 30-27 with Limestone taking the victory. In the fifth game Coker looked to have things well in hand, with a 10-4 lead, but Limestone went on an 11-2 run to come from behind and take home the victory.

Leading the Cobras was Margaret Madison (Savannah, GA) with 17 kills and 17 digs, while Meagan Haupt (Summerville, SC) and Kristin Teets (Columbia, SC) each had 16 kills, with Teets adding four blocks. Kelsey Carlson (Osweego, IL) tied a Coker single match record with 36 digs, while Natalie Schembra (Hilton Head, SC) had 19 digs. Megan Gordon (Chicago, IL) gave the Cobras 53 assists in the match.

For Limestone, Melissa Thomas (Easley, SC) had 14 kills, while Sam Flannery (Acworth, GA) had 13 kills and five blocks and Ashley Hubbard (Temple, TX) had 10 kills and six blocks. Laura Kerrison (Charleston, SC) had 47 assists and Chelsea Anthony (Pickens, SC) had 36 digs.

Coker returns to the floor tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. as they host another Conference Carolinas rival, Belmont Abbey College.
