Savannah, GA- The Coker Volleyball Team capped off their weekend of play at the 2007 Chatham Orthopedic Tournament with a pair of losses against UNC-Pembroke 3-1, and Florida Tech 3-0. After Saturday’s matches the Cobras ended the weekend with a record of 4-8 overall and 0-4 in the tournament.

 

In the first match Saturday, the Cobras fell to UNC-Pembroke 3-1, losing the first, third and fourth games by scores of 30-17, 30-14 and 30-20. Coker did manage to win the second game of the match, 30-28. Leading the attack for Coker was Margaret Madison/Savannah, GA, with 11 kills and four blocks, while Megan Haupt/Summerville, SC, had 10 kills and eight digs. Kristin Teets/W. Columbia, SC, added eight kills and six digs, while Courtney Butrym/Columbia, SC, had 26 assist and Kelsey Carlson/Osweego, IL, had 15 digs.

 

Their second match of the day saw the Cobras lose 3-0 to Florida Tech with scores of 30-12, 30-27 and 30-18.

 

The Cobras return to the court on Tuesday, September 11, as they travel to face Conference Carolinas foe, Pfeiffer University. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
