Thomasville, NC - Margaret Madison, a junior from Coker College, has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) women's volleyball Player of the Week in the fifth week of the 2006 season.  Madison led the Cobra volleyball team to a 1-1 record for the week, in two extremely tough matches versus two of the top CVAC teams, Limestone and Converse. In Coker’s 3-1 loss to Limestone, Madison had 16 kills, a .371 hitting percentage and 14 digs. On Saturday versus Converse, Madison led the Cobras to a huge come from behind victory. The Cobras were down 2-0 and came back to win 3-2. In the match Madison had 24 kills, three aces, 12 digs and a .400 hitting percentage.  For the week she was at a .388 hitting percentage, with 4.44 kills, 2.88 digs, .67 blocks, .44 aces, and .33 assists per game average.  Behind Margaret’s great play the Cobras are now third in the CVAC with a record of 8-3 (9-9 overall).  Coker plays today at CVAC rival Belmont Abbey before going home Friday to host Columbia.
