Valdosta, GA- In their first match of the Valdosta State Volleyball Tournament, the Cobras lost a heartbreaker to Augusta State in five games. Coker came out of the gates strong winning the first two games 30-23 and 30-12, but unfortunately they were unable to finish off the Jaguars and lost the next three games; 30-21, 30-25, 15-13.
Megan Haupt was the leading force behind the Coker attack with 15 kills, 14 digs and two aces. Margaret Madison netted 14 kills for the Cobras, while Allie Bragg added 10 kills also. Tara Nelson had 49 assists and 13 digs, while Natalie Schembra and Kelsey Carlson had 15 and 16 digs respectively.
Coker (2-3) will take on Florida Tech at 4:00 p.m. in their second game of the tournament and will finish up with games against St. Leo and Valdosta State on Saturday.
