
STAUFFER LEADING THE COBRAS AT SEASON OPENER
Lynchburg, VA- Women's track and field are starting their season this week at the Liberty Kickoff. On day one, 3 of your Cobras competed to start the season. All 3 cobras were in the long jump at the start of the season.
Two of your Cobras led the way in the first flight of the long jump. Sophomore Massassi Maxwell-Smith had an excellent jump of 16' 2 1/2" to start the Cobras. She ultimately finished in 24th place to start the Cobras.
Kat Andrews followed Maxwell-Smith on the first flight. Andrews, a dual-sport athlete for the Cobras, started off her season with a jump of 14' 7 1/4", which gave her a 34th-place finish in the women's long jump.
Rounding out the Cobras was the senior from Taylors, SC. Jael Stauffer was the Cobra's only athlete in the second flight of the women's long jump. Jael ultimately finished in 19 for the Cobras as she had a final jump of 16' 5 3/4". Stauffer finished the highest for the Cobras in the women's long jump.
