Cobras Compete at USC Indoor Open

The Coker Women's Track & Field team traveled to Columbia, S.C. to compete in the USC Indoor Open one week before their SAC Indoor Championship Meet.

60m Prelims

At the 60m Prelims, Kelsey Smith would be the first Cobra to cross with a time of 8.77. MJ Hurd would follow behind  Smith with a time of 9.21 and set a PR in the process. Laila Hixon would round out the 60m prelims for the Cobras finishing with a PR time of 9.37.

200m

At the 200m dash, Jael Stauffer would be the first Cobra in with a PR time of 27.63 earning her a top 25 finish. Kat Andrews would cross the line with a time of 30.42, also setting a PR for the 200m dash. MJ Hurd would be the last Cobra to cross the finish line in the 200m with a time of 32.01.

800m

In the 800m, Taylor Marotta would cross the line first for the Cobras running a season-best 2:48.98. Kylee Ryan would follow after Marotta, crossing the line with a 3:02.25, which is a PR on the season for Marotta.

In The Field

Long Jump

In the Long Jump, Coker would see a top 20 finish from Jael Stauffer as she would finish 19th overall, jumping a distance of 4.81m. Kat Andrews would be the final Cobra to jump setting a PR jump of 4.56m.

Shot Put

In Shot Put, McKay Kasper would have the best throw on the day for the Cobras, throwing a distance of 7.59m. Grace Matt would finish with a PR throw of 5.41m for the Cobras to round out the field.

Weight Throw

At the Weight Throw, Nehemiah Jinks would be the lone Cobra to throw, placing in 18th with a throw of 6.92m

Coker will prepare for their Indoor SAC Championship Meet which will begin Friday, February 23rd, in Winston-Salem, N.C., at the JDL Fast Track.
