Mitchem Finishes Second in 400 Meters at Gamecock Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Coker women's track and field team competed at the University of South Carolina's Gamecock Invitational on Saturday (Apr 16).

Freshman Mariah Mitchem took home a second place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.33. Teammates Stephani Forrester and Syriah Lottimore finished in 12th and 18th respectively. Calene Lazare finished 11th in the 100 meter dash invite event with her time of 11.97. The 4x100 relay team of Syriah Lottimore, Mariah Mitchem, Lasira Nicholson, and Calene Lazare took 6th with a 47.16 posted time. The 4x400 relay team of Stephani Forrester, Mariah Mitchem, Destiny Ingram, and Syria Lottimore finished 13th with a 4:07.29. 

Arianna Williams finished 21st in the 400 meter hurdles with a 1:13.52 and Destiny Ingram took 17th in the 800 meters finishing with a 2:25.77. Catherine Cann's 5:38.11 was good enough for 34th in the 1500 meter run while teammate Kessler Cutchin finished in 39th with a 6:35.83.

In the field events, Ikia McCullough's distance of 32.04m in the hammer throw placed her in 13th while her mark of 26.22m was good enough for 20th in the discus throw and Jael Stauffer's 4.73m took 18th in the long jump.
