
Five Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors
NEW ORLEANS, La. - Five Coker University women’s track and field athletes were named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Team, announced recently by the organization.
NEW ORLEANS, La. - Five Coker University women's track and field athletes were named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Team, announced recently by the organization.
Coker's record breaking 4x100m relay team consisting of Calene Lazare, Faith Lee, Nya Exum, and Nyasia Weatherly all earned All-Region honors. The team broke the Coker record for the 4x100 at the SAC Championships, running a 46.58 and winning the event. The mark was a NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
This is Exum's first career All-Region honor. The Temple Hill, Md. native is the daughter of Stephanie Whitaker and Ronald Exum, and is a biology major.
Lazare also earned All-Region honors in the 100m and the 4x100. Lazare broke the Coker record for the 100m at the SAC Championships, running an 11.83 and winning the event. The mark was a NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
These are Lazare's second and third career All-Region honors. The Newton, Mass. native is a biology and psychology major.
Lee also earned All-Region honors in the 100m hurdles. Lee broke the Coker record at the SAC Championships, running a 14.03 and finishing third. The mark was a NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
These are Lee's first and second career All-Region honors. The West Palm Beach, Fla. native is the daughter of Herbert and Pauline Lee, and is a management and leadership major.
Weatherly earned All-Region honors in the 200m. Weatherly took the 200m event at the SAC Championships where she ran a 24.53.
These are Weatherly's first and second career All-Region honors. The Duncan, S.C. native is the daughter of Quaashie Weatherly and Natasha Edmonds, and is a biology major.
Jada Holton earned All-Region honors in the triple jump. Holton broke the Coker record for the triple jump with a mark of 11.91 at the SAC Championships where she took second place. The mark was a NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
This is Holton's second career All-Region honor. The Coconut Grove, Fla. native is the daughter of Mary Jobe and Johnny Holton, Sr., and is a biology/pre-med major.
