Big Performances Lead Coker Women’s Track and Field to Sixth-Place Finish at the SAC Outdoor Championships

HICKORY, N.C. - A day of big performances led Coker University women's track and field to a sixth-place finish at the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championships on Sunday (Apr. 25). 

Coker's 4x100m relay team consisting of Nya Exum, Nyasia Weatherly, Faith Lee, and Calene Lazare boasted a new school record with a time of 46.58 seconds, winning the event and provisionally qualifying the 4x100m team for nationals. 

Calene Lazare broke her own school record in the 100m, running an 11.83, winning the event and qualifying for nationals.

Jada Holton broke the school record for the triple jump, with a provisional national qualifying jump of 11.91m, placing second in the event. 

Faith Lee took third place in the 100m hurdles, running a 14.03 and qualifying for nationals. Lee would also place eighth in the 400m hurdles.

Giovana Machado placed second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:04.14. 

Weatherly won the 200m with a time of 24.53 seconds.
