Women’s Track Competes at Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational

Myrtle Beach, S.C. - The Coker University women's track and field team completed competition at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational on Saturday (Mar. 20). The Cobras had a strong showing setting several personal bests while competing against several Division I programs. 

Zyasia Burgess placed 11th in the 200m finals with a time of 26.61.

Giovana Machado placed eighth in the 400m finals with a time of 1:01.51, while Burgess placed ninth with a time of 1:01.64.

Destiny Ingram placed 11th in the 800m finals with a time of 2:321.73.

Katie Spence placed 13th in the 5000m final with a time of 19:40.73.

The Cobras will be back in action on Friday (Mar. 26) when they travel to Mount Olive, N.C. to compete in the Adidas Trojan Challenge. Live coverage can be found at www.cokercobras.com.
