Calene Lazare Sets Coker Record at BU Valentine Meet

BOSTON, MA – The Coker University women's track and field team completed competition at the BU Valentine Meet on Saturday (Feb. 15). The Cobras had a great weekend on the track, setting a new school record and several personal best times.

Calene Lazare set a new Coker school record in the 200m, running a time of 25.08. Lazare also excelled in the 60m (7.77). Nyasia Weatherly (25.55) ran the second fastest time in school history, behind Lazare's mark of 25.08. Trinity White (26.42) also ran well for the Cobras. White led the way in the 400m, finishing with a seasonal best time of 1:00.36. Weatherly ran a 7.97 in the 60m, finishing in seventh place. Syriah Lottimore was not too far behind at 8.03.

"Calene and Nyasia placed themselves as the first and second fastest indoor 200 girls in school history and all four girls had huge PR's in the event," said coach Pete Early. "It was an amazing experience that I hope they all remember."
