Tiffany Taylor sets Coker Shot Put Record at S. Carolina Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Coker University women's track and field team completed competition at the South Carolina Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 8) in Columbia, S.C. It was another great weekend for the Cobras as several personal best times were set, including another school record.

Tiffany Taylor set the Coker school record in shot put with a heave of 11.24m, beating her own record of 11.08m, which she set last weekend at the Carolina Challenge on Jan. 31. In the 60m, Nyasia Weatherly paced the Cobras with a time of 7.88, which was a personal best. Syriah Lottimore finished at 8.08, while Ayana English (8.21), Shania Crosby (8.51), and Madison Groleau (8.80) set personal bests.

Weatherly (26.23), Lottimore (27.21), English (27.36), and Jackson (28.29) all set personal records in the 200m. Asante Rice led the Cobras in the 60 hurdles with a time of 9.34. In the 800m, Destiny Ingram and Olivia Jordan led Coker with times of 2:32.60 and 2:35.99, respectively.

"I am very proud of how we competed this weekend," said coach Pete Early. The 200 group really set the tone for how the rest of the day unfolded."
