Coker Women’s Track and Field Notches Five Wins at Lenoir-Rhyne Invite

HICKORY, N.C. – The Coker College women's track and field team had an outstanding showing at the Lenoir-Rhyne PowerSox Invitational on Saturday (Mar. 19). The Cobras picked up five wins and finished in third place as a team. 

Charity Snelling earned a win in the high jump, recording a distance of 1.60 meters. Snelling also placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 10.54 meters.

The Cobras also picked up a win in the 4x 100-meter relay, running a time of 49.90.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Kaylah Ruff came in third with a time of 15.58.

In the 100-meter dash, Noella Leake earned the top spot, running a time of 12.42. Autumn Walters came in fourth with a time of 12.87.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Ruff scored a win, running a time of 1:08.56. Snelling came in third with a time of 1:09.53, while Jalecia Williamson came in fifth with a time of 1:14.02.

In the 200-meter dash, Leake and Walters finished first and second, Leake recording a time of 25.38, Walters finishing with a time of 26.78.

Mercy Muhuhu was the runner-up in the 5000-meter run, finishing with a time of 20:22.84.

The Cobras will be back in action on Friday (Mar. 25) when they travel to Rock Hill, S.C. for the Adidas Winthrop Invitational. Events begin at 2 p.m.
