How It Happened
The Cobras started off with momentum on their side, winning on courts one and three in doubles with 6-3 scores on both courts. This gave them a 1-0 lead heading into singles play, only needing three courts to secure the win. Two wins came early for the Cobras with Bellegy winning on court one and Hernandez-Sanchez winning on court two, both in dominant straight sets. Unfortunately, heartbreaking losses on multiple other courts kept the Cobras from securing the nationally-ranked win as they fell to the Jaguars at home.
Notables
- Myers suffered her first singles loss of the season in this matchup but is still a stellar 8-1 in that department
- Bellegy has not dropped a match in singles in over two weeks
- This is the Cobras' first loss in the last five matches, as they are now 9-3 on the season and a stellar 5-1 in SAC play
