How It Happened

The Cobras came through in doubles today, with the pairing of Bellegy and Banning back to winning ways at first doubles. They, along with the Myers/Sierra pairing, secured 6-2 wins to take the doubles point with a bang and head into singles play up 1-0.

Today, Bellegy secured the first singles point of the afternoon with a dominant performance in straight sets against her opponent at first singles. Her doubles partner, Banning, had a comparable performance at the third singles spot, securing a win in straight sets. Banning's match had its fair share of drama, heading to a tiebreak at six games all. However, she took care of business in the tiebreak, dominating it with a scoreline of 7-2.

The other singles winner of the day was Macias, who also won in straight sets on court five. Overall this was a great opening to the conference season for them, opening with a road win against a SAC Playoff-level opponent!

Notables

• Bellegy is still undefeated in singles, holding a 4-0 mark on the season with wins over Lander, NGU, FMU, and now Anderson
• Myers logged an unfinished match today at sixth singles but could've easily gained another win there. She is also undefeated in singles with a 4-0 record!
