BELLEGY AND BANNING NAMED PRESEASON ALL-SAC HONOREES
Rock Hill, SC - The lists are out, and Coker Women's Tennis athletes Jade Bellegy and Emerson Banning find themselves on the Preseason All-SAC teams, as announced by the conference this morning. Bellegy was named to the Second Team All-SAC Singles list, while the pairing of Bellegy and Banning was named to the First Team All-SAC Doubles list.
Jade Bellegy | SR
Bellegy, the senior from Paris, France, has been a star for the Cobras. After transferring in from fellow DII institution Saint Leo last season, she had a great opening season for the Cobras in 2024. She amassed an impressive 25-9 record this season at the first singles and doubles positions, going 12-5 in singles and 13-4 in doubles with Banning as a partner. She also earned Second Team All-SAC honors in singles and Third Team All-SAC in doubles with Banning. After a great fall that saw her win multiple tournaments and qualify for the round of sixteen at the Fall ITAs, she is primed for an even better 2025 campaign.
Emerson Banning | SR
Banning, the senior from Queensland, Australia, has been another focal point for the Cobras. Another transfer athlete, this time from NAIA member Cardinal Stritch, last season was her opening season with the Cobras. Mirroring her doubles counterpart, she amassed an impressive 25-9 record this season playing primarily at first doubles and fourth singles. She was 12-5 in doubles and 13-4 in singles, earning Third Team All-SAC honors in doubles with Bellegy. This season, Banning will step into an even bigger role with the Cobras and look to help the Cobras bring home some hardware.
