Women's Tennis Comes Down To The Wire Against Catawba, Falls 4-3

Hartsville, SC - Women's tennis fell in a close 4-3 match this afternoon, facing off against the Indians of Catawba.

Starting off with doubles, the Cobras were battling to try and secure the first team point of the day. With Jade Bellegy and Emerson Banning earning a 6-4 win on court one, it was all knotted up at one apiece after dropping the match on court three. Attention shifted to court two, where the match was in a tiebreak at 6-6. Unfortunately, the Cobras fell through and headed down 0-1 into singles play.

After dropping the match on court six, Coker rebounded to win on courts two and four to tie it up at 2-2. Salomé Sierra grabbed a 7-6, 6-2 win on court two while Banning battled to win 6-3, 0-6, 7-6 in a thriller of a match-up. The Cobras needed two of the last three matches for it to tip in their favor, but were unfortunately only able to grab one of them. Bellegy battled in a tough three-setter to take a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 victory to round out the final 3-4 scoreline.
