Women's Tennis Loses In Heartbreaker to UMO

Hartsville, SC - The Cobras Women's Tennis team dropped a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to the Trojans of Mout Olive in a continuation of a match delayed from yesterday afternoon.

First, with doubles, the ladies dropped the point but not without a fight. Salomé Sierra and Caroline Myers partnered up to get the 6-2 win at third doubles, but the first and second doubles pairs dropped their matches as the Cobras fell down 1-0 to start.

On to singles, it was a fight to the very end. Matches went back and forth, with the Cobras winning on courts one, two, and four to tie it 3-3 heading into a deciding match. Jade Bellegy won her match on court one 7-6, 6-3, Sierra won her match on court two 7-5, 6-2, and Emerson Banning won her match on court four 6-4, 6-0. Unfortunately, Myers dropped her match in three sets on court six as the Trojans took the win.

The Cobras will be back at home on Tuesday, opening conference play against Catawba. The first serve in that match is scheduled for 2:00 PM ET.
