Women's Tennis Loses First Match of the Season Against FMU

Hartsville, SC - Cobras Women's Tennis picked up their first loss of the season in a 5-2 decision against the Patriots of FMU.

As always, the day started out with doubles. FMU took the doubled point from the Cobras, but not without a fight. Salomé Sierra and Caroline Myers teamed up to take a 6-3 win at third doubles as the lone Cobras doubles pair to come away with a victory.

On to singles, each player puts up a battle in their matches. Out of the six total singles courts, five matches went to three sets. Angelina Krieg came away with a 6-4, 2-6, 10-3 victory at third singles and Emerson Banning dominated her opponent 6-2, 6-0 at fourth singles. Unfortunately, the tough battle put up by each one of the Cobras tonight was not enough to seal the deal.

Your Cobras Women's Tennis team is back in action at the USC Sumter Invitational on Friday, with a first serve scheduled for 2 PM ET.
