Women's Tennis Grabs 6-1 Win Over Lander In Season Opener

Greenville, SC - Women's tennis came out aggressive in their season opener, taking down the Lander Bearcats in a 6-1 win.

The Cobras made a statement on the doubles courts, taking wins at all three spots to grab the doubles point. The pairing of Jade Bellegy and Emerson Banning grabbed a 6-3 win at first doubles, Angelina Krieg and Tamara Macias grabbed a 6-4 win at second doubles, and Salomé Sierra and Caroline Myers teamed up at third doubles to take their opponents down 6-2.

Bellegy picked up a dominant 6-2, 6-1 win at first singles, and right below her was Sierra taking a 7-5, 6-1 win at second singles. Other singles wins included Banning (6-1, 6-1 win on court four), Macias (6-0, 6-2 win on court five), and Myers (6-2, 6-2 win on court six).

The Cobras will be back in action this Tuesday when they travel to Augusta with a first serve scheduled for 1PM ET.
