HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University women's tennis team blanked Southern Wesleyan on Friday (Feb. 28) in non-conference action by a score of 7-0.

Coker swept doubles play for one point, before cruising through singles play for the shutout.

Charlotte Clarke and Gabriela Del Val posted a 6-2 win over Paulina Jankun and Noemi Aguirre at No. 1 doubles, before Tamie Chew and Gracie Waldron defeated Iva Jankovic and Torrienne Emery 6-1 at No. 2. Kelli Stinchcomb and Zoe Heed wrapped up doubles play with a 6-0 win over Lydia Kovats and Ashley Dube at No. 3 doubles.

Chew defeated Jankovic 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, before Clarke beat Jankun 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 at No. 2 singles. Del Val defeated Aguirre at No. 3 singles 6-1, 1-6, 7-5, before Heed posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over Emery at No. 4 singles. Waldron defeated Dube in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5, before Stinchcomb beat Kovats 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6.

The Cobras (4-1) are back in action on Tuesday (Mar. 3) for Spring Break play in Hilton Head, S.C. The Cobras face Tiffin at 8:30 a.m.
