Women's Tennis Defeats Johnson C. Smith on Sunday

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University women's tennis team defeated Johnson C. Smith on Sunday (Feb. 23) by a score of 6-1.

Coker secured the doubles point with two doubles victories, before winning five out of six singles matches.

Tamie Chew and Gracie Waldron defeated Halle Parker and Jada Strickland 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, before Kelly Stinchcomb and Zoe Heed won over Taylor Brooks and Nija Price at No. 2 doubles 6-3.

Chew defeated Brooks 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, before Gabriela Del Val del Toro beat Price 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Zoe Heed defeated Halle Parker 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3, before Waldron posted a 6-0, 6-0 win over Strickland at No. 4. Stincomb would rally for a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 win over Aria Springfield at No. 5.

The Cobras are back in action on Tuesday (Feb. 25) at Francis Marion. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
