Cobras End Season With 6-1 Victory Over Mars Hill

MARS HILL, N.C. -- The Coker College women's tennis team defeated Mars Hill 6-1 in the final match of their season on Thursday (Apr. 11).

The Cobras began the day by taking all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. Charlotte Clarke and Tamie Chew won 6-1 in #1 singles, Zoe Heed and Kelli Stinchcomb won 6-2 in #2 doubles, and Lea Weber and Kelli Hurt won 6-4 in #3 doubles.

Clarke, Chew, Weber, Stinchcomb, and Hurt followed up their doubles victories with singles victories as well. Clarke picked up her team-leading ninth victory of the season with a 6-4, 6-3 win in #1 singles, while Chew won 6-2, 6-1 in #2 singles.

Stinchcomb won 6-3, 6-2 in #5 singles, and Kelli Hurt pulled out a tight 6-4, 7-5 win in #6 singles. Weber won 3-0 in #3 singles after her opponent was forced to withdraw.
