Coker Drops Non-Conference Match to Tiffin
The Coker College women’s tennis (5-3) team dropped a non-conference match to the Tiffin University Dragons 6-3
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Coker College women's tennis (5-3) team dropped a non-conference match to the Tiffin University Dragons 6-3 Wednesday (Mar. 7) afternoon.
In doubles action, the Cobras lone victory was at the No. 1 spot as the duo of Jennifer Mezei and Suzanna Mickey took care of the their Dragon opponents 8-5.
The Navy and Gold earned two victories in singles play with Mickey toughing out a 6-1, 3-6, 10-8 victory at the No. 2 spot. Next, Jenna Gainey recorded a dominant 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles. Mickey improved to 6-2 overall in singles play with a 5-1 mark at the No. 2 spot on the season. In addition, Mickey and Mezei upgraded their doubles record to an impressive 7-1 mark on the season.
The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Mar. 10) when they open up South Atlantic Conference play by hosting Tusculum at 1 p.m. at the Coker Tennis Courts.
