Cobras Come Up Short Against Bears

The Coker women's tennis team suffered a 5-4 non-conference loss to Shaw University on Saturday (Apr. 5).

HARSTVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's tennis team suffered a 5-4 non-conference loss to the Bears of Shaw University on Saturday (Apr. 5).

Picking up wins for the Navy and Yellow were Faith Baxley and Adri Watford. Baxley notched a straight-set 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles, while Watford picked up a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles. Coker's other two victories came by default at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.

The Cobras will have a quick turnaround as they hit the road for a non-conference match with the UNCP Braves tomorrow (Apr. 6) at 1 p.m.
