Hartsville, SC- Today started well for the Cobras as they took two out of the three doubles matches against Pfeiffer University. Cassidy Spencer and Lindsay Crighton were first to bring in a win as they dominated Smith and Thomas to win 8-2. Rachel Lemar and Jill Smith came in soon after as they won 8-3 at number one doubles beating Stroup and Dominguez. This put the Cobras up two one going into the singles matches.

 

The singles was dominated by Pfeiffer University as they went on to take 5 of the six singles to win the match six three. Jill Smith playing number five singles had the best result as she beat Heather Thomas 7-6(5), 6-3.Smith played solid tennis from the baseline moving her opponent around the court. Some of the other singles were close however Pfeiffer just came out on top.

 

This moves the Cobras to 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in conference play. The lady Cobras next match is at home on Thursday against Newberry College.
