Spartanburg, SC- The lady Cobras took on Converse College today away in Spartanburg, SC in a CVAC match up. The day started with the doubles matches and Coker went up 1-0  due to insufficient players to play No. 3 doubles. Rachel Lemar and Jill Smith soon made it 2-0 with an impressive 8-0 win. The No. 1 pair of Andrea Santos and Ashley Pace found it tough going and lost 8-4. Cobras had a 2-1 lead going into the singles.

Cassidy Spencer was first to win a match for the lady Cobras in singles as she beat Rachel Wilkes 6-1, 6-3. Jill Smith and Andrea Santos played well in singles but both came up short losing in three long sets. The No. 6 singles match was forfeited by Converse and it leveled the match at 4-4 with Rachel Lemar still on court. Lemar won the first set 7-5 and was attacking the net effectively. The second set however went to Ive Jardim from Converse 6-2. The match went down to a final deciding set where it went to 5-5, when Lemar stepped up her game to take the set 7-5 and give the Cobras a 5-4 victory.
