Anderson, SC - A stunning scene in Anderson, as the Cobras found themselves on the right end of a game-winner with time running down to polish off a 2-1 win over the Trojans of Anderson.
The Trojans took the lead in the 23rd minute of the first half and, for the rest of that half, held that 1-0 lead. The story was much of the same for the vast majority of the second half as well, with the Cobras not converting their chances on goal and trailing by one in the waning moments of the contest.
Things weren't looking too hot with around ten minutes remaining on the clock. The Cobras needed a source of offense and they needed it fast. Lo and behold, a beautiful ball through by Mila Rausch found the feet of Maia Clark and she slotted it home on a great finish to make it a 1-1 game.
Just when you thought it might end up a draw, the Cobras showed that they weren't quite done yet. With just over a minute left on the clock, Silke Nielsen gave Isabella Rychel a beautiful ball out of the backfield to give her an opportunity. Rychel used her physicality to get free and, with the ball at her feet, slotted home the game-winner. They remained strong for the remaining minute of the game and took home the insane win on the road.
Coker will not play a mid-week game this upcoming week and will be back in action for homecoming weekend this Saturday against Tusculum. Kick-off for that contest is scheduled for 4:30 PM ET.
