Coker Women's Soccer Adds Another Recruit to 2020 Class

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker University's head women's soccer coach Garrett Linquist has announced another addition to the 2020 recruiting class.

Sophia Haughton joins the Cobras as a transfer from USC-Lancaster. While featuring as midfielder for the Lancers last year, Sophia contributed two goals.  Prior to her time at USC-Lancaster, Sophia was a member of Congaree Rapids Soccer Association.  Additionally, Sophia was a two-time captain for Sumter High School and was twice named to the All-Region team, as well as being voted Team MVP her senior year.  Sophia was named to the President's Honor Roll and the Dean's List in her time at USC-Lancaster and finished Top Ten in her graduating class at Sumter High School.  Sophia plans to major in psychology at Coker.  She is the daughter of Daniel and Maria Haughton and three siblings Isaac, Elijah and Corinna.

"I am very excited to add Sophia to our program," said Linquist. "Sophia will be a great addition for the program, and with the experience of playing a year of college soccer, have the opportunity to step in and contribute to right away."
